Each year, we celebrate México’s independence, and what better way to do this than getting the whole family together to eat delicious Chiles en Nogada – a traditional meal during this holiday! The invention of this dish goes back to 1821, and its vibrant colors are made to resemble our national flag. If you are a fan of this dish, take advantage of the upcoming Fiestas Patrias. At the Casa de Piedra restaurant, they celebrate all September with a Chiles en Nogada special on the menu. They are made following the traditional recipe: a filling made with ground meat, apples, and raisins, bathed in a pecan sauce, and garnished with pomegranate seeds and parsley leaves. You don’t need to be a guest of the hotel to eat here, but we do recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Enjoy this dish on the terrace while looking out on the magnificent gardens.

At this contemporary Mexican restaurant, you’ll enjoy fantastic drinks and ambiance. Also, during the entire month of September, you can try classic Chiles en Nogada – a staple of this month’s celebrations. They use all the original ingredients from this recipe: candied cactus, almonds, brandy, poblano chiles, beef filet, pomegranate seeds, pork loin, apples, walnuts, pine nuts, plantains, goat cheese, and more.
