Monday
Start your week by visiting the most iconic site of the Puuc Route: Uxmal. When you're done, enhance your visit with a stop at Choco-Story, the Cacao Ecomuseum, and bring home a sweet souvenir from ki’XOCOLATL. On your way to Maní, where you’ll spend the night, you can make a quick stop at the Santa Elena Museum on the Caste War.
Tuesday
Once in the Magical Town of Maní, start your day with breakfast at El Poc-chuquero before exploring the St. Michael former convent. Then, head to Lol-Beh restaurant, where you’ll learn how to make your mukbilpollo. If you’re eager to make it at home, we’ve included the recipe and a detailed guide.
Wednesday
Today, you'll visit the community of Tekit, where, with the help of Co’ox Mayab, you can immerse yourself in the Yucatecan traditions observed during Janal Pixan. Find more about the special events they've organized for this season, including visits to local traditional altars.
Thursday
Today, Mérida is yours. Dive into the beauty and modernity of Paseo de Montejo, by visiting its museums, cultural centers, stores (like Casa T'HŌ), and outstanding restaurants (like Yerba Santa or Rosas & Xocolate). At night, visit Parque de las Américas in García Ginerés, and try the many different street snacks offered all around it.
Friday
In October, the state dresses up to celebrate Janal Pixan. In Mérida, the city is adorned with special decorations and beautiful altars that pay tribute to our loved ones. Don’t miss the chance to explore Mérida’s cemetery, a cultural gem, with knowledgeable and friendly guides. For more details, call 999 272 2535.
Saturday
Today, you’ll visit multiple destinations. On your way to Chocholá, make a stop to admire the impressive Ex-Convent of San Francisco de Asís in Umán. Then, in Chocholá, visit the San Ignacio cenote before heading to Hunucmá to enjoy the patron saint festivities in honor of the same saint, complete with a grand vaquería. While you’re there, make sure to savor queso de bola sopes, a delicious local specialty you won’t want to miss.
Sunday
How about an autumn morning at the beach? Enjoy the warm waters of the port of Sisal, the former official port of the state before Progreso. If the swim makes you hungry, indulge in fresh seafood and a hearty assortment of botanas at the Dianelsy restaurant.
