While Neapolitan flan isn't originally from Yucatán, it has definitely become part of our local gastronomy by incorporating regional touches. This is a classic of classics, and the recipe is easy to follow, allowing you to impress anyone at home or with guests.

 

Neapolitan Flan Recipe

Ingredients for Neapolitan Flan:

  • 300 grs sugar
  • One lime
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Procedure to make the caramel:

Mix the sugar with 180 ml. water and a few drops of lime juice until diluted and it forms a dark caramel. Immediately pour a small amount in the bottom of one or more flan recipients.

 

 

Procedure to make the flan:

Place the eggs, milks, and vanilla in a blender and mix for 3 minutes and empty into the molds previously bathed with caramel. Place in water in a pan and bake, covered, 45 minutes. Cool at room temperature and then chill.
