Pre-Hispanic Mérida: In this room you will find pieces showing the Maya culture from the pre-Hispanic city of Th’o.
The Colony or New-Hispanic Mérida: These pieces are related to the Spanish conquest of Mérida and the founding of Mérida.
19th Century and early 20th Century Mérida: Pieces related to the economical boom, the development of the city, and the henequen haciendas.
20th Century Mérida: Objects and pieces related to modern Mérida.
Temporary Exhibit Rooms
These spaces are where local artists are invited to show their works.
Newspaper and Bibliographical heritage
This space was made possible through institutional and public donations. Books and specialized periodical publications from the city of Mérida, with diverse themes ranging from the Maya culture to the present day Mérida and the state are housed here.
Guided Tours
With reservations and a minimum of 10 people and maximum of 30, you can ask for guided tours of the museum from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 6:30 pm. Tours last approximately 1.5 hours. Call 923-6869 ext. 85503, at least three weeks in advance.
Entrance and all the services at the City Museum are free.

GAMM (Municipal Mérida Art Gallery)
Located within the City of Mérida Museum, this space was opened in November 2007 to promote, diffuse and commercialize the multiple artistic expressions of Mérida’s art community. With this gallery, the local artists, Mexican and foreign, living here in Mérida, have a space to show and sell their pieces.
