The sport of golf was brought to the Yucatan in 1969 when the visionary architect Felix Mier y Terán (father of our publisher) and Mr. Vicente Erosa got together, bought the land, designed the course and then built some homes that were the beginning of the development that is built between the greens and fairways. These two gents advertised in American golf magazines with the idea of bringing retired Americans to the Yucatán. A cute colonial home with a central courtyard along the main avenue on a lot that measured 30 meters by 100 meters went for $33,000 dollars back then.
In 1988 Mr. Trino Molina bought the club, injected some serious capital, and has made the club what it is today - an important place in Yucatán for families and golfers alike.
