Tanúbela: Support Yucatán's Music Project at EIMIM 2026
A Local Music Project Needs Your Help
Hi! I’m Tania López, creator of Tanúbela, an independent project focused on experimental electronic and alternative music, born right here in Mérida, Yucatán.
Last week, I received news that could mark a turning point in my music career: Tanúbela was selected to participate in the 2026 Encuentro Iberoamericano de Mujeres en la Industria Musical México (EIMIM), an important gathering for women and gender-diverse people in the music industry.
From September 22–24, 2026, we’ll have the opportunity to present our project in Mexico City and connect with people who could open new doors for Yucatán’s music scene: festival representatives, managers, record labels, promoters, media outlets, and other music industry professionals.
For me and the entire team, this is an incredibly important opportunity to keep opening doors and bring a project created in Yucatán to new stages. I never imagined how far Tanúbela could go. And we’re only getting started.
The Challenge: Getting Tanúbela to EIMIM Mexico 2026
But there’s also a challenge: although the project was selected, the program does not cover transportation or accommodation expenses.

Behind every Tanúbela performance is an amazing team of six people who make it possible for the music to come alive onstage:
• 3 musicians
• 1 audio engineer
• 1 lighting and visual engineer
• 1 manager
That’s why I’m reaching out to you today with a special request. I truly believe that art is also built through community.
We need your help to cover the travel and accommodation costs for our entire team and make this presentation in Mexico City possible.
You can help open a new path for music from Yucatán.
How to support Tanúbela and independent music in Yucatán
To help us make this trip and cover the investment it requires, we’ve set up a GoFundMe. Through the platform, anyone can contribute whatever amount they’re able to give, bringing us one step closer to making this presentation a reality.
Our fundraising goal is $45,000 pesos (based on the most recent airfare estimates), primarily allocated as follows:
-
✈️ $35,000 pesos for flights to bring all six team members, along with our equipment, from Mérida to Mexico City.
🏨 $10,000 pesos for accommodation for the team during our four-night stay.
So far, we’ve been able to secure our accommodation through the support we’ve received on our GoFundMe, and we’re now focusing our efforts on covering the flights.
We’ve reached our first goal, but we still need your support. Even after the event, the GoFundMe will remain open to help us repay some of the loans we had to take on to guarantee our participation.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, is invaluable to us.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, means so much to us.
Supporting this campaign means helping an independent project born in Yucatán share its music at an important space for professional growth, connection, and the circulation of new and emerging projects.
If a Tanúbela song has ever been on your mind…
If you just discovered us and liked what you heard…
Or if you just believe in supporting independent artists…
We’d love for you to be a part of this journey.
If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign can make a huge difference. Each share can get us closer to someone who is able to share.
Thank you for believing in independent music, for joining us on this journey, and for helping us take a piece of Yucatán to México City.
If you’re rooting for us, it’s like you’re coming with us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
