Recipe for Mexican Sweet Tamales
1 kg corn masa
¼ kg lard
1 tbs. Royal baking powder
Salt
½ k strawberries
¾ cup sugar
Corn husks
Blend the lard, salt and Royal until creamy, add the masa and mix well. Blend the strawberries and sugar in the blender and mix all until spreadable. Spread on the corn husks and wrap, then steam for 1 1/2 hours.
Recipe for Mexican Regular Savory Tamales
1 kg corn masa
¼ kg lard
1 tbs. Royal baking powder
Salt
1/2 cup tea from green tomato leaves
1 1/2 kg pork
Sauce:
6 chiles anchos
8 chiles pasillas
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
1 tsp. ground black pepper
Mix the ingredients for the sauce, fry in the lard, add the pork and the salt. It should be neither too thick nor watery.
Blend the lard, salt and Royal until creamy, add the masa and mix well until spreadable. Spread on the corn husks and then add the pork in the mole, then wrap, then steam for 1 1/2 hours.
