Corona Capital Brings a Premier Experience to Mérida with "Corona Sessions"
Corona has plenty to celebrate: the clear-bottled beer, traditionally served with a wedge of lime, has been an icon of México to the world since its birth in 1925. But that’s not its only milestone this year. In 2025, its flagship music event, the Corona Capital festival, also celebrates 15 years as the country’s largest festival of its kind.
Born in Mexico City, the festival has cemented its reputation as one of Latin America's primary windows for English-language music. It's comparable to the most prestigious international festivals, known for its world-class production and the quality of its headliners.

Corona Sessions: A Turning Point for Yucatán's Music Scene
As part of this dual celebration and with the goal of expanding its legacy, the festival is launching a new concept this year: Corona Sessions. Mérida has been chosen as one of only three cities in Mexico to host this innovative experience, which aims to revitalize the market for high-level, mass-audience shows in Southeast México.
These Sessions are not a simple acoustic set; they consist of three full-length concerts from international artists, all concentrated into a single day. The Mérida edition, scheduled for November 8th, will feature each band with their full set, musicians, and instruments.
This event is poised to be a watershed moment and the starting point for a new era of major entertainment in Yucatán. There are discussions for this new format to become a long-term feature of the festival brand. In other words, Corona Sessions represents an opportunity to restore Mérida’s prestige as a crucial market for stadium-level events—something the region has truly missed out on.

A Dream Lineup: Rock, Electropop, and British Nostalgia
The lineup for the Corona Sessions in Mérida is a powerful genre blend that guarantees a memorable night.
The French band Phoenix will be bringing their acclaimed indie rock with synth-pop undertones, known for vibrant anthems like "1901" and "Lisztomania." Joining them, Passion Pit will burst onto the stage with their unmistakable, contagious, and euphoric electropop.
Finally, the British piano-rock trio Keane, with their epic and emotional sound, returns to Mérida after a power outage forced the cancellation of their sold-out concert last March. This time, rain or shine, the band will evoke nostalgia and massive singalongs with timeless hits like "Somewhere Only We Know" and "Everybody's Changing," promising an emotionally charged finale. This combination of rock, electropop euphoria, and iconic ballads makes the Sessions a musical event you absolutely can't miss.

The Corona Capital Experience, in Intimate Format
The three bands chosen for the Mérida Corona Sessions leave nothing to be desired for fans of international music, and yet, they are only the beginning. True to its identity, the event will offer more than just music. The Corona Capital festival is known for generating an atmosphere of connection and fun, which will be replicated in the Sessions:
- Key Amenities: The event will feature sponsor activities at the entry points and a large food court.
- Festival Icon: The iconic Ferris Wheel, a symbol of the Corona Capital experience, will be present, offering privileged views and an unforgettable meeting point.
Get Your Tickets and Be a Part of History
The Corona Capital, with 15 years of history, has proven its ability to bring thousands of people together through music. It would be impossible to list all the magic moments that have taken place in previous years, such as in 2024, when Paul McCartney surprised audiences by bringing onstage not only St. Vincent but also Jack White.
Corona Sessions Mérida is your chance to be part of moments like those and experience an unforgettable evening. The atmosphere will be perfect for connecting with friends and strangers who share a passion for great music.
