From July 26 to August 4, 2024, the Dzityá police station in Merida will be covered in crafts, colors, music and tradition. Like every year, Dzityá is ready to host the largest craft fair in southeastern Mexico. For months before, the inhabitants of the community have been putting their hands to work to design, create, carve, sand and polish artisanal pieces made from natural raw materials, primarily wood and stone.
23rd Tunich Fair, from July 26 to August 4, 2024
The Tunich Craft Fair will begin on Friday, July 26 and end on Sunday, August 4, in order to exalt local crafts and the creativity of entire generations of families dedicated to traditional artistic crafts. It will also have the special participation of Yucatecan master artisans from the communities of Xocchel, San Antonio Millet (Tixkokob) and Izamal.
The 23rd edition of this initiative, promoted by the Directorate of Economic Development and Tourism of the Mérida City Council, will be attended by Veracruz, Michoacán and Guanajuato as guest states and Egypt as a guest country.
During the event you will be able to admire the works of 150 artisans, more than 40 artistic shows and a Yucatecan gastronomy area prepared by members of the Dzityá police station.
Costs and how to get to the Tunich Craft Fair
Admission to the fair is free; In addition, there will be a free transportation service that will depart from the Plaza Grande in downtown Mérida to the venue; Transportation will be available Monday through Saturday from 5 to 10 pm, and Sundays from 1 to 10 pm.
