We all have a “Finado” (a deceased person) whose absence truly hurts; some of us, more than a couple. The Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos, and, in Yucatán’s case specifically, the Días de Finados or Janal Pixan, is an opportunity to devote some time (a few hours, a few days, or even an entire month) to remember them as they were in life, share their memory with friends and family, and feel their presence again.
In October:
- Options to experience a different Janal Pixan in the state's interior
- How to commemorate Janal Pixan (and Day of the Dead) with the family
- How to make your own mukbilpollo or pib at home}
In this issue we hope you find what you need to prepare your own loved ones’ homecoming, and that these days may be as special to you as they are to us.
