As part of the 8th Casa Tanicho International Monologue Festival, within Mérida Fest 2026, Sorrows Know How to Swim, by Cuban playwright Abelardo Estorino, will be presented on January 14 at 8 pm at the Casa Tanicho Cultural Center.
The play follows an actress who unexpectedly steps onto the festival stage without being scheduled. Balancing humor and vulnerability, she attempts to perform The Human Voice by Jean Cocteau, while fragments of her own life emerge. Through personal memories and professional struggles, the performance becomes an intimate reflection on loneliness, the acting profession, and inner battles.
As part of Mérida Fest 2026, admission is free.
