Welcome to a very special issue of Yucatán Today! We’re thrilled (and honored!) to be part of the Mérida Tianguis Turístico and, in a way, to share our love and pride for this lovely state we live in. We’re especially excited because the event is happening just as the local economy continues to reopen. Thanks to our growing vaccination rates, occupation restrictions are gradually being lifted. This gives us the chance to go back to many of the activities that we had to give up last year; plus, if we all exercise caution and responsibility, this could be the final return to normal! Now that the holiday season is upon us, many of us will face difficult decisions: to gather or not to gather? To go out or to stay in? How many are too many close friends? The answer depends on each individual and their circumstances, and that’s important to keep in mind.
