“A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.” Annie Leibovitz Photography is such an essential part of travel. The days of not packing enough rolls of film are over; digital photography and instant sharing have transformed our experience. We invite you to look through the viewfinder at five photographers who call Yucatán “home.” The quote above, expresses something very important that for me, applies specifically to travel photography: the places you will go and the food you will eat will captivate you; but the people will stay in your heart. There are many other photographers we know and love, who we didn’t have room to include in the article. I’d like to specifically mention some whose photos have graced our covers: Carlos Espinoza, Antonio López, Enrique Osorno, Laura Pasos, Alejandro Poot, and our very own Juan Manuel Mier y y Terán, dearly missed founder of Yucatán Today. You have all made us look good. Thank you!
