On March 4, 7, 20, and 21, several events across the city will commemorate the 49th anniversary of Day of the Troubadour, a date dedicated to honoring the artists who have shaped Yucatecan trova, considered a living musical heritage of the state.
One of the highlights is the concert “They Sing with the OTY” on March 7 at 7 pm at the Palacio de la Música - Centro Nacional de la Música Mexicana, featuring the Orquesta Típica Yukalpetén.
On March 20 at 11 am, a thanksgiving mass will take place at the Catedral de San Ildefonso. Later that day, at 7 pm, the traditional Día del Trovador Callejonada (a musical alley tour) will begin at the Palacio de la Música - Centro Nacional de la Música Mexicana and make its way to the Museo de la Canción Yucateca, featuring the Queen of Troubadours and a contingent of local trovadores.
To close the celebrations, a tribute for Día del Trovador Yucateco will be held on March 21 at 9 am at the General Cemetery of Mérida.
