Sacred Stones

Every Friday of the year you can enjoy “Piedras Sagradas” Video mapping, a video mapping show on the façade of the Cathedral of San Ildefonso. It combines various 3D and 2D animation techniques to deliver a historical account of the creation of the building, built with the stones of the ancient Mayan city of Thó, as well as its meaning for the inhabitants of this city. The audiovisual journey is accompanied by a 12-verse narrative created exclusively for the cathedral and the musicalization is accompanied by the members of the choir of the city of Mérida and their sacred songs.
