Through March 30, Casa Escuela presents Hot Served Cold, a solo exhibition by Mexican artist Milena Muzquiz.

This exhibition —Muzquiz’s first solo show in Mérida— brings together 15 recent works created in ceramic, watercolor, oil painting, and textile. Throughout the exhibition, everyday objects are freed from their utilitarian roles and transformed into expressive bodies that bend, stretch, and shift, exploring emotion, memory, and materiality.

The works engage with references ranging from Sicilian Baroque and Renaissance ceramic traditions to coastal landscapes, where the artist literally incorporates water into her painting process. Textile pieces and modular sculptural elements further blur the boundaries between art, everyday objects, and architectural space.

Location: Casa Escuela, Mérida
Dates: November 8, 2025 – March 30, 2026
Visiting hours:
— Monday to Wednesday: by appointment
— Thursday to Saturday: 10 am – 2 pm and 3 pm – 6 pm

An exhibition meant to be experienced slowly, allowing materials to speak for themselves.

All works will be available for viewing and acquisition throughout the exhibition period.
