Parade of the Souls 2026

One of the most anticipated nights of the year is almost here! On October 30, starting at 6 pm, Paseo de las Ánimas (Parade of the Souls) returns as one of Mérida’s signature events during the Festival of the Souls.
This year, more than 500 costumed spirits will make their way through the neighborhoods of La Ermita and San Juan, as well as the General Cemetery. Along the route, you’ll find traditional altars honoring the dead, and the evening will wrap up with a grand vaquería, a traditional Yucatecan dance celebration.
Admission is free, but keep in mind that this is a very popular event. Arrive early and plan ahead to make the most of the experience!
