Every September México celebrates its independence from Spain. In honor of this important date, the Magical Town of Valladolid will come alive with a vibrant calendar of events filled with history, tradition, and fun for everyone.
On September 6, the festivities kick off with a Mexican Night at Francisco Cantón Rosado Main Square at 8 pm, hosted by the sociocultural group Luis Rosado Vega.
On the 13, the day begins at 8 am with the flag raising ceremony at the Main Square, followed by a floral offering at 9 am in Santa Ana Park, commemorating the 178th anniversary of the Heroic Cadets of Chapultepec.
On the 14th, lace up your shoes for the Independence Race starting at 6 am from the Municipal Palace. Later, at 5 pm, enjoy the Charro Day Parade, which will make its way from Unidad Deportiva San Juan to the Sisal neighborhood esplanade, finishing at 6:30 pm.
On September 15, don’t miss the traditional Cry of Independence starting at 7 pm. The following morning, on the 16th at 8 am, the Civic-Military Parade will set off from San Juan Park.
But that’s not all! From September 18 to 20, car enthusiasts can enjoy the Rally Unique, featuring an exhibition of vintage automobiles. And to close the month with a delicious twist, from September 25 to 27, the famous Edam Cheese Festival takes place at Candelaria Park.
