
Slavery and the Cultural Legacy of Africa in the Caribbean

From September 10 to 29, the Biblioteca Yucatense presents the exhibition “Slavery and the Cultural Legacy of Africa in the Caribbean”. Opening on September 10 at 11 am, the exhibition explores the history of slavery in the Caribbean and highlights the lasting cultural impact of the African diaspora, which continues to shape the region today.
This exhibition is part of the European project “Connected Worlds: The Caribbean, Origin of the Modern World”, led by Dr. Consuelo Naranjo Orovio (CSIC, Spain) and curated by Dr. Miguel Ángel Puig-Samper.
Open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.
Free admission.
