From November 7 – December 1, check out the Feria Yucatán Xmatkuil. It’s the most important state fair in southeastern México and features artistic and cultural events, games, and cattle and equestrian shows.

Head over to Soho Galleries, one of Mérida’s favorite places located in the beautiful Santa Ana barrio. Take a look at the contemporary art featuring primarily artists from Cuba and México.3.

Check out the relaxed and casual Casa Chica, located right on Paseo de Montejo. It’s the perfect way to end your day: with a bite and a nightcap.

Visit X’cambó, an interesting archaeological site which was an important commercial port for the Maya. Plus, it pairs perfectly with a trip to the beach!

From December 5-15 the annual Feria de la Naranja is held in Oxkutzcab. Visit this sweet colonial town and take a look at the structures they build specially for the fair using citrus fruits.

Try a meat-free Yucatecan specialty: Papadzules. These tacos are filled with hard-boiled egg and are then bathed in two sauces: ground pumpkin seed and tomato. Absolutely delicious!

Starting December, you can see “Antorchistas” cycling and running along the highways of the state. This pilgrimage dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe culminates on December 12 with religious celebrations at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe church.
