From July 26 to August 4 you can’t miss the Feria Artesanal Tunich in Dzityá. You’ll find all kinds of handcrafts that will give your home that special touch.

This month, get to see one of the beautiful haciendas our state has to offer. Have lunch, spend the night, or just go for the day. On page 11, we have some ideas on haciendas which offer day passes.

Friday at 8 pm, when the city cools down, a part of Calle 60 closes down to traffic for “En el Corazón de Mérida.” Enjoy live music, outdoor dining, and even a little shopping.

If you want to have a truly Yucatecan summer experience, you need to spend an entire day at the beach. Spend the day swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, take a nap in a hammock, and in the evening hang out at the “feria” and the “futbolitos.”

These months are real scorchers… time to revisit a tried and true solution: the cenote swim! They go from comfortable and full of amenities like Cenote San Ignacio, to mysterious and secret.

The anniversary of Ticul is celebrated mid-July with two weeks of handcraft and art exhibits, folkloric dances, fiestas, and more.

Summer evenings are perfect for al fresco dining. Try the Mediterranean-inspired Mexican flavors at the hidden gem Rosa Sur 32º in Parque de Santa Lucía.

Normally, during the holidays many archaeological sites are jam packed. If you want to avoid crowds, but don’t want to miss out on your history fix, visit sites like Labnáh, Sayil, and Kabah. They tend to be less crowded but are very impressive.

The Feria del Barrio de Santiago in honor of the Christ of Transfiguration is happening from July 28 to August 6. This is the only traditional “barrio” fiesta still celebrated in Mérida today.
