The holidays are just around the corner! Have you stopped for pictures by the tree at Remate de Paseo de Montejo? Have fun with your family in this space full of Christmas lights and decorations.

Churros - cartas a frida

If you’re feeling the Yucatecan cold, how about some churros? In Mérida they’re easy to find; wherever you find them you’ll probably be able to pair them with coffee or a cup of hot chocolate. Make the most of our “winter”!

Between December 16 and the 24, wherever you are, you’ll come across Posadas and Novenas, religious celebrations in anticipation of Christmas. Don’t leave before the T’oox, it’ll be your chance to punch a piñata!

Guayabera - Alforzas - Wortex4

The Tekit Guayabera Fair, December 15 to 31, is a wonderful opportunity to sport a brand-new outfit just in time for the holidays. Don’t miss out.

Diversión Xtrema5

Another event not to miss is the Feria de Reyes, in Tizimín. Between December 28 and January 16, visit the church, talk to the locals, and be part of this colorful celebration, full of music and food. On page 36, Goretty will tell you more about its tradition.

While you’re in Tizimín, stop by the cenote Santa Cruz. You’ll be surprised by its crystal-clear water and its depth: over 60 meters (200 ft)! It’s 2 km away from the city center. Make sure not to miss it.

Yucatán has it all, including plenty of opportunities to volunteer and get a closer look at our Maya culture and language. Discover the Yaxunah social project and take part in this experience between January 3 and 13. FB: K-otoch Yaxunah
