From July 28 to August 6, Dzityá, a Mérida sub-municipality, will be brimming with crafts, colors, music, and tradition. As it is every year, Dzityá is ready to host the largest handcraft fair in southeastern México. Months in advance, the community’s residents roll up their sleeves to design, create, carve, sand, and polish artisanal pieces made from natural raw materials, primarily wood and stone.
22nd Tunich Craft Fair, from July 28 to August 6, 2023
The Feria Artesanal Tunich (Tunich Craft Fair) will take place from Friday, July 28 to Sunday, August 6, aiming to celebrate the local craftsmanship and creativity of generations of families dedicated to traditional artistic trades. It will also feature the special participation of Yucatecan master craftspeople from the communities of Xocchel, San Antonio Millet (Tixkokob), and Izamal.
The 22nd edition of this initiative, organized by the Economic Development and Tourism Directorate of the Mérida City Council, will have the presence of Veracruz, Michoacán, and Guanajuato as guest states, as well as Egypt as the guest country.
For 10 days, you will have the opportunity to admire the works of 150 artisans, enjoy over 40 artistic performances, and explore a Yucatecan cuisine area prepared by Dzityá locals.
Costs and how to get to the Tunich Craft Fair in Dzityá
Admission to the fair is free; In addition, there will be a free shuttle service from Plaza Grande in Mérida Centro; the shuttle service will be available Monday through Saturday from 5 to 10 pm, and Sunday from 1 to 10 pm.

If we use the previous fair as a reference, just last year, more than 100,000 people visited Dzityá to admire the work of 150 artisans, who greatly benefited from the event.
