- Take a tour of the Loltún caves, the largest and most well known of Yucatán’s caverns. Located in Oxkutzcab in the southern part of the state, they are conditioned for safe guided tours.
- While in Oxkutzcab don’t miss the church and ex-convent San Francisco de Asis located in the main plaza, and the old train station.
- Wander the streets of the “Pueblo Mágico” Valladolid, site of the first spark of the Mexican Revolution in 1910. This enchanting city is famous for its magnificent post-colonial history as well as for its local cuisine including “Lomitos de Valladolid”.
- Don’t miss a chance to see the majestic blue waters of the cenote Simbalá in Motul. You can leisurely enjoy the variety of fauna and flora.
- The town of Progreso offers a beach with a calm sea, perfect for relaxing and listening to the sound of the waves. Take a leisurely stroll along its famous boardwalk (malecón), where you will find several stands selling all kinds of clothing and souvenirs.
- Take a tour to Hacienda Sotuta de Peón and its refreshing cenote Dzul-Ha. This is one of the only haciendas still producing henequen today.
- Visit the town of Bokobá near Motul, where you can find colorful scenes full of history. Don’t miss a look at its hacienda Mucuyché.
- Go and see the archaeological site of X’Cambó, a small site with a lot of history. It also has a religious presence in the form of its simple sacred chapel.
- Head in to the heart of the coastal jungle and take a refreshing swim in the Dzonot-Tzik spring of San Crisanto.
- Visit El Corchito, an ecological reserve, where you can get up close to nature. It is managed by a co-op of 23 fishermen.
