Start your day by having breakfast at Escargot Rústico, from there start walking and get to know all the “barrios” in Mérida. Go into the stores, museums, and galleries. Remember that at 9 pm you can watch the “Vaquería” (regional dance) at the Plaza Grande. Then have dinner at Pórtico del Peregrino.
Discover the Puuc Route, start at the Loltún caves and end with a delicious lunch at Hacienda Uxmal. Back in Mérida, at 8:30 pm go to Santiago park for an evening of dance at “Remembranzas Musicales.”
A beach day is always necessary! Download your Mangroves Route map and visit Xcambó, San Crisanto, and Telchac Puerto. When you come back, go to the General Cemetery at 8 pm for a very unique tour.
Get to know one of the Seven Wonders of the World: go to Chichén Itzá, and then visit Cenote Chihuan, you can swim, dive, and snorkel. Every Thursday at 9 pm is the Yucatecan Serenade at Santa Lucía park, and you can have dinner at La Tratto.
Today will be a relaxing day, go to T’ai Spa and pamper yourself. After that enjoy delicious vegan gastronomy at Nümen. In the evening, walk along Paseo de Montejo, and stop at Reina de Montejo for a refreshing seasonal fruit “trole.” End your tour at Mercado 60 dancing some salsa.
Visit the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya and get to know more about this fascinating culture. After that visit one or more cantinas in Centro; with the beers you’ll get free “botanas.” At some of them you’ll be able to dance till you drop!
Let’s go to Izamal, we can visit the artisans’ workshops and of course the convent. As soon as you are back in Mérida, you can go to Plaza Grande and enjoy “Mérida en Domingo.” End the week by having dinner at any of the restaurants in the north part of the city.
