Monday
Are you ready? Head north out of Mérida towards Puerto Progreso, and walk along the boardwalk and the wooden pier. Then go to Silcer Beach Club for a delicious lunch and some aquatic sports. Come back to Mérida before 9 pm to see the Vaquería (regional dance) at the Palacio Municipal, located on the Plaza Grande.
Tuesday
Wake up early and take the highway, in this case towards Valladolid. Walk along its streets, check out the cathedral, the cenotes and the convent. Then drive to Chichén Itzá, discover the archaeological site, and at night see the video mapping “Noches de Kukulkán.”
Wednesday
Prepare yourself for a day connecting with nature. With the team of Los 7 Cenotes you will see birds, plants, and swim in their beautiful cenotes. When you get back to Mérida, unwind with a yummy Italian dinner at La Tratto Península.
Thursday
After a perfect breakfast at Escargot Rústico, check out the city of Mérida: go to the nearest Turibus stop and hop on, and enjoy the history and architecture of the city. Don’t forget the Serenata Yucateca at Parque Santa Lucía is at 9 pm, and you can’t miss it!
Friday
Do you want to discover a town painted yellow? Go to Izamal and see the first Pueblo Mágico (magical town) of México. Visit the artisan workshops, and eat delicious food at Kinich or Zamná restaurants. On your way back to Mérida, stop at the archaeological site of Aké. Now back in the city, go for a cold beer and great music at Hennessy’s Irish Pub on Paseo de Montejo.
Saturday
Today is the day where you will learn more about the Maya culture: go to the beautiful archaeological site of Uxmal, and if you have energy visit another site along the Puuc Route. Stop in the colonial town of Muna and observe the typical daily life of Yucatán. At night have fun at Esvedra Downtown in Mérida.
Sunday
Let’s finish the week on a bicycle, by participating in the “Bici Ruta” in Mérida. You can rent a bike on Paseo de Montejo. After that go to the street stands of Mérida en Domingo and have a “marquesita.” As a perfect ending, go for dinner at one of the restaurants in Parque Santa Lucía.
