Monday

Welcome to Yucatán! Check into Hotel Mansión Mérida where you’ll receive the royal treatment at this charming Casona turned hotel. Then spend the day discovering the Centro and iconic Paseo de Montejo, stopping in at tempting shops, restaurants, and cafés.

Ek Balam

Tuesday

Start the day early and drive to Ek Balam. Once you’ve explored the archaeological site, you’ll be desperate to cool off, but don’t worry because cenote X’Canché is right on site. After a swim, make your way into the magical town of Valladolid to experience this colonial gem.

Wednesday

After breakfast at K’uxub in Valladolid, drive to visit majestic Chichén Itzá. When you finish, you can either go to Tsukán Santuario de Vida for a dip in the cenote, or check into Hotel Hacienda Chichén before attending the evening sound and light show, Noches de Kukulkán.

Thursday

Return to Mérida early in the morning to continue sightseeing the city. On the list for today: Barrio de Santa Lucía with its magnificent restaurants, architecture, and shopping; and Santiago with its galleries and vibrant market – a must if Panuchos and Sopa de Lima are on your to-eat list.

Friday

Explore the Convent Route. Start at Acanceh’s Plaza de las Tres Culturas. Then, move on to Tecoh to see the church and proceed to visit the site of Mayapán, followed by a swim in cenote Nah Yah. Make sure to make a stop in picturesque Mama before finishing the tour in Maní.

Saturday

Spend your day adventuring at some of the Maya sites on the Puuc Route. Puuc means hill in Maya, and the zone is known by this name because of the distinct topography of the south of the state. Highlights include the Loltún caves, Labná, Xlapak, Sayil, Kabah, and Uxmal.

Sunday

You have to experience our beaches! First, head to Xcambó. This site was very important for Maya trade and you’ll likely be one of a handful of visitors. Then, enjoy the drive down the coastal highway until you reach Progreso, where you can lounge on the beach and eat fresh seafood.
