Monday
Welcome to Yucatán! First, go to the Palacio Municipal for the free bilingual tour of the main square at 9:30 am. Then, explore other points of interest in the area such as the Tercera Orden church. Finish with a delicious Yucatecan lunch at MUGY.
Tuesday
Start bright and early to discover an ecotourism paradise: Sisal. Upon arrival, head to the former Customs building where you can hire tours to the mangroves, water springs, and to go birdwatching. When you’re finished, have lunch and enjoy the beach before returning to Mérida.
Wednesday
Take a trip to Yucatán’s past by exploring the Convent Route. Start in Acanceh, continue to the impressive site of Mayapán, then dive into the cool waters of cenote Nah Yah. End your tour with a Poc Chuc lunch and a visit to the convent in Maní.
Thursday
Spend your day in Barrio de Santa Lucía. In the morning, experience great shopping at stores like Ki’Xocolatl, Between the Lines, and Kukul Boutik. In the afternoon, savor delicious flavors at Apoala, La Tratto, Peruano, and Rosa Sur 32°. In the evening, don’t miss La Serenata at 9 pm.
Friday
Begin Friday with breakfast at the Mercado de Santa Ana. Afterward, explore galleries such as Nahualli, La Sala, and Soho Galleries. Later, walk down Paseo de Montejo and pop into irresistible bars and restaurants such as Hennesy’s Irish Pub and Casa Chica.
Saturday
For many, majestic Chichén Itzá is a must when visiting Yucatán. If you want to see it for yourself, there are many options: you can drive if you have a vehicle, take the daily ADO transport, or hire a tour from a company such as Mayan Heritage.
Sunday
Get up early and get a table on the terrace at Sukra to have a view of the Biciruta during breakfast. Then, walk to ¡El Estudio!, Paloma van den Akker, Casa T’hó, and Casa de Artesanías Mercado to buy those last-minute souvenirs. Have a wonderful trip!
