Telchac Puerto
Every day commercial fishing boats of various sizes head out to sea for a day, 3 days, 6 days, and 15 days; the day trips are aboard a 30-foot fishing vessel “Atlante” which leaves Telchac Puerto at dawn and returns in the evening. They have a crew of 4 to 5 fishermen including the captain. They fish with small long lines and usually catch 150 to 200 kilos of fish per trip on a good day; usually fishing for grouper. The distance from the coast is 25 to 35 miles, where they find the best fishing banks. Thanks to Ramón and his crew for this information.
