La parrilla papas rellenasOctober, 2015

This iconic, classic Mexican restaurant personifies the mission of this chain of successful restaurants: “offer a very Mexican experience with the traditional flavors of our food, with excellence in service for all our customers”.

Now celebrating 40 years on the Yucatán peninsula, and 25 years in Mérida, La Parrilla is known for its delicious Mexican food and traditional settings. Offering the customer an endless array of recipes and dishes, La Parrilla restaurants tell the story of authentic Mexican food, taking pride in the dishes which have become iconic favorites over time.

La Parrilla restaurants offer a fun, Mexican ambience with delicious margaritas, walls full of art, and Mariachi music. La Parrilla Centro has perfected this concept in ways that visitors from other countries love: with two-storey high bar shelves, Mexican flags, piñatas, serapes, sombreros, musical instruments, and cheerful folk art on the walls.

Upon arrival at La Parrilla Centro, you are given an enthusiastic welcome, and you can choose between a table overlooking the busy downtown street (Calle 60), facing Parque Hidalgo, or go up to the second floor interior balcony and watch the activity from there. You will be delighted by the colorful interior and the open-air setting, complete with the brightly painted leather “equipales” chairs and barstools.

The menu is divided into the following sections: appetizers, baked cheese (try this—“queso fundido” — with fresh corn tortillas!), soups, salads, grill specials, fajitas, “from the corral”, molcajetes, pizza, “Mexicanísimo”, stuffed potatoes, molletes, baguette sandwiches, and tacos, tacos, and more tacos! Beverages include traditional fresh juices, sangria, an array of Mexican beers, coffees, flaming coffees, and a full bar. Be sure to save some room for dessert! There is also a breakfast menu when La Parrilla Centro opens at 10 am.

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, at 8 pm, Calle 60 is closed for “Corazón de Mérida”, and La Parrilla joins in the fun by putting tables outside on the street, thereby extending their open-air dining room even further. You won’t be able to resist taking a table in the midst of all the activity, enjoying a cold beer or margarita with your delicious Mexican dinner. The streets are dressed in multiple Mexican colors, and there are strolling musicians and live bands scattered up and down the street.
