Mérida, Ciudad Blanca, in 2017 is for the second time “Capital Americana de la Cultura.” This will allow you to enjoy free cultural events all year long, in parks, theaters and city streets.
Remember that Mérida offers free daily cultural activities for locals and visitors. The folklore, the music, and the dance of the “Vaquería Yucateca,” the folk environment at “Remembranzas Musicales,” the guided night tours at the General Cemetery, the “Serenata” at Santa Lucía Park with 51 years of tradition, the Maya ball game “Pok ta Pok,” the mariachi music at the Noche Mexicana, and the conviviality during “Mérida en Domingo,” plus the new videomappings at Casa de Montejo and the San Ildefonso Cathedral, make up the weekly cultural program that you can experience in Mérida.
