“It’s time to say goodbye, but I think goodbyes are sad and I’d much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure.” -Ernie Harwell
I’ve always loved new experiences, and exactly one year ago, I ventured into one at Yucatán Today. It was an amazing journey going from Assistant Editor, to Editor of this publication. However, the time has come for me to move on and away to join my husband in Los Angeles.
In this, my last edition, our contributing writers have penned some fantastic pieces. Take a look at page 5, for Greta’s “low down” on how to “get down” in Mérida’s lively dance scene. On page 7, Violeta tells you all about Ticul, and how its the perfect place to start your next adventure. For new ideas on outings with your little ones, Cassie has you covered with museum activities on page 10. Also, don’t forget to take a peek at our “Where to Go and How” articles, brand new and filled with up-to-date information.
My farewell letter would be incomplete without a mention to the Yucatán Today team, our contributing writers, our advertising family, and of course you, the reader! My deepest thanks to all of you. It’s been a true honor to work alongside and for each and every one of you.
Although my hand will continue to be present in the magazine as a contributor, Louana Ángeles will take over the Editor’s seat and you’ll get to know her through her very own editorial flair. Welcome Louana and best of luck!
For now, it’s not goodbye, but hello. I wish you the very best on your upcoming adventures travelling through Yucatán. Find inspiration in these pages, and say hello to somewhere new.
