Nothing is permanent in this world, not even our troubles. – Charles Chaplin
Travel is the reason Yucatán Today was founded 32 years ago when our goal was to take travelers by the hand and show them our wonderful, diversified state. Today, with all that is happening in the world, we want to continue by your side.
We have four distinct readerships – the tourist who comes for the first time, the ex-pat community that is growing by the week, local Yucatecans, and the many people who have moved to Mérida from other parts of México. Everyone looks for and awaits the new monthly edition of Yucatán Today.
While we probably won’t be seeing new tourist faces, the other three communities are staying put. We want to continue to take you by the hand as we all adjust to this new reality that we hope will soon pass.
Many restaurant advertisers are offering take-out and delivery. Check our restaurant listing on pages 38 and 39. If you need to leave your Airbnb, check the hotels offering deals on short and long-term stays. The car rental places are also offering huge discounts. Please support them.
Now is a good time to plan for the future, time to think about where you want to go, what you want to see, what you want to eat. Take your time, savor our articles on culture, traditions, travel with children, and gastronomy.
We thank all our advertisers who have chosen to stay on with us and we hope that in a very near future we will be seeing those who were forced to postpone their trip to Yucatán. These are challenging times for all of us, but we will weather this storm together.
Let’s remember good ‘ole Charlie Chaplin and stay positive.
