This month’s edition of Yucatán Today is all about variety. Of course there is no end to the things you can do or the places you can go during your travels around our state, and this magazine will provide you with plenty of ideas!

A word of advice: the month of May is generally the hottest month of the year, with temperatures easily reaching 40C (104F). It is extremely important to carry water with you and drink it frequently, wear a hat, and walk on the shady side of the street. If you see a street vendor selling fans, buy one for your pocket or purse!

The rains begin in earnest in June, and June 1 marks the official opening of our six-month-long hurricane season. The hurricane gurus at Colorado State University predict that this year will have lower activity than normal, with 11 named storms, of which four could be hurricanes, of which two could be major hurricanes.
