An abundance of handcrafts, gastronomy, and cultural offerings for both local and foreign visitors are what await you at the Feria Artesanal Tunich. This handcraft fair is a space that looks to celebrate and promote the incredible work of our local artisans. Here you will find gorgeous handcrafts while you enjoy cultural and artistic events for the whole famiñy – not to mention delicious traditional snacks that you just can’t miss out on!
This year our Artisan Pavillion will feature over 150 craftspeople, and will include the presence of our guest states: Jalisco, Michoacán, and Guanajuato, who come to share their own wealth of traditions with all those attending the event. Don’t pass up this chance to enjoy all this fair has in store and purchase exquisite handcrafts of stone and wood as well as fine jewelry, pottery, textiles, and more.
This one-of-a-kind event will take place July 26 to August 4, starting at 11 am each day, and celebrates its 18th edition this year.
The fair will be hosted in the town of Dzityá, which means “Zapote Tree” in Maya, located just 10 minutes north of Mérida. Dzityá is primarily populated by artisans who have dedicated themselves for generations to the conservation of our handcraft traditions, mainly using stone and wood as their mediums.
You can visit the fair using the free transportation which will be provided leaving from Calle 61 x 62 y 64, Centro. For more information, check out the transportation schedule on the Ayuntamiento’s website: www.merida.gob.mx/tunich
If you prefer to take your own vehicle, the fair will have eight parking lots with 260 spots available.
