With a wide variety of artisanal, gastronomic and cultural riches for locals and visitors, the 17th annual Tunich Artisan Fair will take place from July 27 to August 5.
The town of Dzityá (Maya for “zapote tree”), located just north of Mérida, will be the setting for this popular fair. Dzityá is mainly inhabited by artisans who have worked for generations to keep the traditions alive of stone and wood craftmanship.
The Fair’s main goal is to be a platform for exposing the cultural, gastronomical and artisanal wealth of Mérida and its surroundings, via cultural, artistic, comedy and children’s events…all accompanied by beautiful handcrafts and exquisite regional “antojitos” for you to enjoy!
Also this year, the Artisanal Pavilion will feature the states of Michoacán, Guanajuato, Puebla and Veracruz, all of whom will share their crafts with the Fair’s visitors.
You can’t miss the chance to enjoy this event and take home one of the beautiful pieces made from stone or wood, fine jewelry, pottery, textiles, etc. showcased by the more than 120 artisans at the Tunich Artisan Fair.
Dzityá is located around 15 minutes north of Mérida. Take the first exit after the Periférico on the Progreso highway. Be part of this wonderful event!
Free entry. Free transportation from the Plaza Grande in Mérida from Monday to Saturday 5 pm to 11 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 11 pm. Parking available at the site for $20 pesos, no time limit.
