The familiar brands of ADO Platino, ADO GL, and ADO carry travelers—with all the comforts—on the longer routes with few or no stops enroute. All of these routes depart from the CAME station in Mérida (Central de Autobuses de Mérida, Calle 70 x 69 y 71, Centro), Fiesta Americana, and Altabrisa. There is service between Mérida and Cancun, Cancun Airport, Playa del Carmen, Valladolid, and many other destinations. Services on board may include reclining seats, bathrooms, connections for laptops and cell phones, coffee and tea, entertainment systems, air conditioning, and more.
Intermediate routes
The Grupo ADO brands which serve the shorter routes are Oriente and ATS. They provide service throughout the peninsula at very affordable prices. Departures from Mérida are from the TAME station (Terminal de Autobuses de Mérida, Calle 69 x 68 y 70, Centro) and Terminal Noreste (Calle 50 x 65, Centro).
TAME station
The ATS brand serves destinations such as Campeche with stops in Umán, Chocholá, Kopomá, Maxcanú, Halachó, Becal, Calkini, Dzitbalché, Hecelchakán, Pomuch, and Tenabo.
ATS also has semi-direct service to Campeche with only two stops (Calkini and Hecelchakán).
The Oriente brand departs every hour from Mérida for Cancun with stops in Pisté, Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, and the final destination of Cancún. There is also service to Pisté, Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, Cobah, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen. From Mérida to Tulum, from Mérida to Playa del Carmen.
Noreste Terminal
Oriente departs from Mérida to Celestún with stops in Caucel, Ucú, Hunucmá, Tetiz, and Kinchil.
Oriente departs from Mérida to Izamal with stops in Hoctún and Tahemen.
Oriente also has a departure to the Puuc Route, with stops in Sayil, Labná, Xlapak, Kabáh and Uxmal.

I plan on visiting Merida coming from Florida next month for a few days then plan to take the ADO platino Bus to PLAYA DEL CARMEN. I tried to make the reservation online at ADOMX.COM but learned that I cannot pay the online reservation with a US Major Credit Card , I need to be in MERIDA to pay the reservation and pay in MEXICAN $$$ or Bankcard. is this true” Should I be worried to find a space for two people travelling on a Tuesday ? is there an ADO counter at the MERIDA airport to purchase bus ticket when I arrive . We need to be in Playa del Carmen after my visit to Merida. Are there other transportation option beside renting a car which is way too expensive for one way.

Hola! Yes, this is true. For some reason you can’t buy from their website with a non-Mexican credit card. Travelling on a Tuesday should be no problem, but yes, there is an ADO booth at Merida airport.
