Monday

Welcome to Mérida! Drop off your bags and leisurely stroll Paseo de Montejo and its boutiques, coffee shops, and monuments. End the night by toasting to a great vacation with a rosewater margarita at Rosas & Xocolate.

Tuesday

Choose your own adventure: Chichén Itzá is the must-see, but Ek Balam offers peace, quiet, and structures you can still climb. In any case, you’ll marvel at the spectacular Maya legacy. Recharge by staying at Hotel Le Muuch in Valladolid.

Wednesday

Be amazed by Mexico’s exquisite regional dresses at the Museum of Ethnic Clothing of Mexico (MUREM). Enjoy a meal at K’uxub, and stroll down the beautiful Calzada de Los Frailes, before ending the night with the “Noches de la Heroica Valladolid” videomapping.

Thursday

We’re off to Izamal! Bike around the city, with stops at the Convent, the Kinich Kakmó pyramid and Coqui Coqui Perfumería. If you’re open to it, give yourself a chance to reconnect with yourself and the universe through shaman Hermano Maya. Spend the night at Hotel Tuul.

Friday

Go to Sotuta de Peón Living Hacienda, where you’ll find a restored hacienda, the process and history of sisal in Yucatán, and a gorgeous cenote to cool off. Back in Mérida, spend a unique afternoon at La Negrita Cantina.

Saturday

Have Lechón al Horno for breakfast, and visit one of the Slow Food or Zero Waste markets in town to see a different side of what local entrepreneurs do. In the afternoon, visit Casa T’HŌ and dinner at T’HŌ Aperitivo.

Sunday

Beach day! The off-season in Progreso offers unbeatable peace and quiet; enjoy it with a swim and an excellent meal at Crabster (which goes first is up to you). Back in Mérida, Parque de las Américas is perfect for pictures and, if you’re up for it, an Elote.
