Monday

Arrive in Mérida nice and early to check into the Diplomat hotel, then take a look at our restaurant guide to choose your lunch spot for today. In the afternoon, visit Montejo 495 and walk down Paseo de Montejo, from El Remate to the Monumento a la Patria.

 

 

Tuesday

Rent a car and plan your route using our map of the Peninsula before heading out to explore the Convent Route. Check out Acanceh, Mayapán, cenote Noh Mozón, Tecoh and Maní. Stop at many different towns and villages to learn more about day-to-day life in Yucatán.

 

 

Wednesday

Today is for relaxing on the beach in Chelem. Sunbathe, play in the waves, and when you feel hungry, trot on over to El Bullpen for a yummy lunch. Be sure to leave room for dessert, coconut sweets are a specialty of Chelem’s

 

 

Thursday

We’re off to Valladolid. Spend the day exploring this Pueblo Mágico’s cenotes, architecture, and food. At 9 pm (Spanish) and 9:25 pm (English), view the video mapping on the façade of the former convent before getting a good night’s sleep at hotel Le Muuch.

 

 

Friday

Get an early start so you can be at Chichén Itzá by 8 am, this way you’ll experience the site with fewer crowds. Besides the opportunity to take that coveted selfie in front of El Castillo, you’ll have time to spare for a swim in cenote Tsukán before heading back to Mérida.

 

 

Saturday

Go by the Slow Food market on Av. Reforma to taste fresh Pan Dulce while you shop around for local products. In the evening, experience the Noche Mexicana at the Remate de Paseo de Montejo, you can pick up your free tickets from Tuesday to Sunday at the Olimpo.

 

 

Sunday

It’s your last chance to discover some of the state’s favorite traditions, such as having a Torta de Cochinita for breakfast! Then you can get any missing souvenirs at Mérida en Domingo. Last but not least, say “Hasta luego, Yucatán” with a night of gastronomy and music at Paseo 60.
