Monday
Once you get to Mérida, go directly to your hotel, check our restaurant listings, and head out for a delicious meal. Then visit the Quinta Montes Molina and walk along Paseo de Montejo. At 9 pm go to the Plaza Grande for the “Vaquería Regional” dance, it takes place in front of the Palacio Municipal.
Tuesday
Have a delicious breakfast at Santa Ana market, walk around the stands and see the handcrafts. After that drive north towards Progreso. Choose the palapa that you like the most, order a cold beer and enjoy the beach. Come back to Mérida and at 8:30 pm go to Parque de Santiago for “Remembranzas Musicales” and watch the dancing…or join in!
Wednesday
Exactly at 9:30 am take the free guided tour that departs from Palacio Municipal to the main square of Mérida. After that go back to the places you liked the most. Walk around the city “barrios,” and go to your favorite cantina. At 8 pm take the “beer yoga” class at Mercado 60. Remember to take your exercise mat.
Thursday
It’s time to head out of Mérida, rent a car and with our free downloaded map drive to Acanceh, where you will start the Convent Route to Maní. Have lunch in one of the towns along the way and get involved in the day-to-day life. Don’t forget the Serenata Yucateca at Parque Santa Lucía back in Mérida, at 9 pm, you can’t miss it!
Friday
Pack your bags and change your location. Drive to Valladolid and check in to your hotel. Go to cenote Dzitnup and then to Uayma. After 5 pm walk along the Calzada de los Frailes, visit the stores and restaurants. End your day with the convent video-mapping at 9 pm.
Saturday
Wake up early and go to Ek Balam, climb the main pyramid and enjoy the view. Come back to Valladolid and walk around Centro; remember to visit the Cathedral and if you have enough energy go to another cenote. At night go to Chichén Itzá and be amazed by “Noches de Kukulkán.”
Sunday
After a delicious breakfast, come back to Mérida and enjoy your last day. Visit the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya and learn more about the Maya culture. Have lunch at any of the restaurants in the north part of the city and get ready for your trip back home. Come back soon!
