Monday

While in Mérida, stay at The Diplomat Boutique Hotel and explore the Santiago and Santa Lucía neighborhoods to see beautiful architecture and tempting boutiques. For lunch, savor the flavors of Apoala and drop by Ki’Xocolatl for some great chocolate.

Tuesday

Head towards San Felipe to see the town’s charming, colorful wooden houses. Then, go to Río Lagartos for a tour of the estuary so you can say hello to the flamingos. After that, you can check out the pink salt lakes in Las Coloradas before finishing your day in El Cuyo.

Wednesday

Spend the day in one of Yucatán’s best-kept secrets: El Cuyo. Take a kitesurf lesson, or just chill and disconnect from the outside world on the pristine beaches. Stay at LunArena or Casa Cielo, and for a meal try El Chile Gordo.

Thursday

Go south and visit the majestic site of Chichén Itzá. For lunch, continue on towards Valladolid and sightsee for a bit. When the sun goes down, you can either return to Chichén Itzá for Noches de Kukulkán, or stay in Valladolid for their video mapping Noches de la Heroica Valladolid.

Friday

Back in Mérida, see Paseo de Montejo, Palacio Cantón, Montejo 495, and the Casa Museo Montes Molina. Buy something special in Casa T’HŌ or at Paloma van den Akker and finish with a dinner at Hennessy’s Irish Pub.

Saturday

Take the free tour of Mérida’s first block that leaves from the Palacio Municipal at 9:30 am. In the evening, you can return to the main square for the video mapping Piedras Sagradas, displayed on the façade of the San Ildefonso Cathedral. Then dance the night away at Mercado 60.

Sunday

Learn about Yucatán’s handcrafts and purchase a unique souvenir at Mérida en Domingo. To end your trip, how about having lunch at Silcer beach club and then watching the sunset from the Muelle de Chocolate in Progreso? Come back soon!
