Get on your bike and join us to find the best routes to ride around Mérida and Yucatán.

Whether to spend time with family or explore new territories with friends, riding a bike is popular with people of all ages. You don’t need anything more than a bicycle and a desire to get rid of all your stress: you’ll get a little exercise that benefits your health and your heart, do some exploring, and have fun. If you don’t have a bike, don’t worry, there are places to rent whatever you like. Read on to hear our suggestions!

Bici Ruta in Mérida

No matter what part of the city you live in, exploring the majestic Paseo de Montejo by bicycle is a visual delight; you can stop and enjoy the architecture in a different way, without vehicles, and with others who are equally relaxed.

There’s music, water stations, medical services, bathrooms, and free cycling classes as well as bicycle loan and rental. There are also drawing activities, exhibitions, and more.

Every Sunday from 8 am to 12 pm.
The first Saturday of each month there is a night version from 6 pm to 10 pm.
It runs from Ermita de Santa Isabel to the Monumento a la Patria.
Bike rental: Plaza Grande, Parque de Santa Lucía, $10 pesos per hour, bring your ID.

Bici Ruta Animaya

Explore Animaya Park by bicycle, an opportunity to exercise and enjoy nature. It has water stations, medical emergency service, and free bicycle loan.

Every Sunday from 9 am to 12 pm.
Esplanade of Animaya Park. Afterwards you can enjoy free activities such as a catamaran ride and walk on foot through the animal areas.

Bici Ruta Americas

If you live near the Progreso highway, this may be the ideal route for you, since it is a straight road where you can practice your cycling skills.

There’s music, water stations, portable bathrooms for men and women, as well as loan of bicycles.

Every Saturday from 4 pm to 8 pm.

Ciclo Turixes

This is a collective that has been promoting cycling as a healthy and non-polluting means of transport for several years. Its name means “circular time” and “dragonflies” in Maya. There is no cost, only your own bicycle is required.

Every Wednesday with different routes, departure from Santa Ana Park, 8:30 pm. They travel 10 to 15 kilometers round trip.

Dirt Riders MTB Mérida

A group that specializes in mountain biking. You must take your own mountain bike of any size, use safety equipment, and have a desire to socialize and practice different types of cross country. There are various routes for riding around the Yucatán Peninsula.

Night Outventure route every Thursday, departure from Bocadero Restaurant on Av. García Lavín, 8:30 pm.

Xcunyá Route

With three options: the 1 km ecological route in which you can explore Áak Park, its medicinal plants, the Community Museum, and the beehive. Ideal for the whole family. The 4 km adventure route in which ancient Maya settings are visited is ideal for people over 16. The 8 km ghost route of 8 km will take you to the famous ghost town of Hacienda Misnebalam, recommended for people over 16.

Highway MéridaProgreso km 15, Dzibilchaltún exit. Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm.
2 hour tour $50 pesos, includes: bike, helmet, and guide for adults. Without bike $30 pesos. The route begins at the Comisaría of Xcunyá.
