Mexico House Exchange
Do you own a home, villa, condo, or apartment in Mexico? Do you like to travel? Now for the first time in Mexico: a network of people that live in Mexico who are willing to exchange their homes, villas or condos, or open their homes to visitors for short visits, all within Mexico.
Mexico Hospitality Network is a new company out of San Miguel de Allende, owned by two American women. The members of Mexico Hospitality Network, all people over 40, love to travel and explore this country so rich in history and culture... and love to have a home environment in which to stay.
How does it work? First, become a member. Membership is free. Once you are a member, and you are ready to travel, simply review the website looking at host homes in the area you are interested in visiting, then send an email from the website to your prospective host with dates and other information, and type of visit or exchange you are proposing. Your prospective host can access your profile on the website before responding.
Exchanges can be simultaneous or non-simultaneous and for any period of time both parties agree to. Visits are usually for 1-3 nights. Your hosts accommodate you in their guest room, separate casita or apartment, and serve you breakfast or provide you the fixings to make your own and provide you with some orientation and information about their area. You in turn, agree to host the occasional visiting member in the same style.
Exchanges usually have no monetary costs. If you host visits, your guests will pay you the small gratuity of $150 pesos/night for an individual or $200 pesos for a couple. And you'll pay the same to your hosts.
To get started, go to www.mexicohospitality.com and register. Enter your profile and the description of your house with a few photos.
Casa Casa is another hospitality exchange club with members in 14 countries. As a member of Casa Casa, you stay in the private homes of friendly members like yourself when you travel, and pay a small gratuity of $15-$20. When you host traveling members in your home, you provide that warm hospitality and share a favorite breakfast recipe. Experience bed and breakfast hospitality on a budget with Casa Casa!
You can join Casa Casa for just $20. That’s half off the regular household membership dues of $40 a year. And, as a charter member, your annual membership dues will always be half the regular rate, for as long as you maintain your membership in the club. http://casacasa.org/
