MACAY Exhibit April to June 2010

With the presence of Leonardo Nierman, known for his prolific work in painting, sculpture, and tapestry, Macay Museum initiates the new season April-June 2010.

El Sonido del Color (The Sound of Color) is a vast collection of 96 pieces, in Salons 6, 7, and the Expoforo, of sculpture, painting and tapestry, allowing the public access a great selection of the works of this Mexican artist for more than 40 years. The selection was supervised by renowned museographer Rodolfo Rivera.

Also on display are the works of Beatriz Simón, Leonel Coronado, Ana Gómez, Carlos Carbajo, Aurora Caro, Tania Cámara and Ángeles Maldonado.

In Salons 9, 10 and 11 Beatriz Simón presents Tacitus, including painting, photography, and sculpture.

El Origen Perverso de Mis Pesadillas: Parte Dos (The perverse Origin of my Nightmares: Part Two) is a polyptic made up of 100 smaller works, by Leonel Coronado, in Salon 8 bis.

In Salon 11 bis Ana Gómez presents Hábitos (Habits), making refernece to the bad eating habits of humans over generations.

Aurora Caro (Salon 2) and Tania Cámara (Salons 4 and 5) present Insomnes (Insomniacs) and Cautivos del Mar (Captives of the Sea), respectively.

Carlos Carbajo (Salon 1) and Ángeles Maldonado (North Gallery), are showing Percepciones Ocultas (Hidden Perceptions) and Vestigios de la Ciudad Moderna, (Vestiges of the Modern City) respectively.

The new cycle of exhibits is open to the public from April 16 (inauguration at 8 pm) until June 30.
Sun, Mon, Wed., Thu. 10 am - 6 pm. Sat. Sun. 10 am - 8 pm. Free entry.
