Hacienda Santa Rosa

We are fortunate to have some of the most magnificent, unique luxury accommodation in the world: the haciendas of Yucatán. For a romantic weekend getaway, let the Hacienda Santa Rosa pamper you with its soft, elegant ambience, and sweet, personal service…while you feel transported a hundred years back in time.

Located 13 km. off the road to Campeche, only 45 minutes from Mérida, Santa Rosa is one of the five haciendas in the Luxury Collection, managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The construction of the hacienda was completed in 1909, and in 1997 it was opened as a hotel after a two-year restoration. The five haciendas are renowned for their interaction with and support of the local communities.

While no detail has been forgotten to provide you with a sense of total relaxation and comfort, the hacienda restoration was done in a way that preserves some of the elements exactly as they were found: every room has a section of unrestored stenciling on the walls or an unpainted beam; and the machine room has not been restored at all.

When you arrive at Hacienda Santa Rosa, you are welcomed on the wide veranda with a cool drink made of lime juice and lemon grass, and ice cold face cloths steeped in orange blossom. From that moment on, the personnel address you by name and make you feel completely at home. Their service is warm, attentive, and unobtrusive; your privacy is paramount.

The hotel has five guest rooms in the Casa Principal and five in the former henequen storage area, ranging from superior rooms to deluxe suites, as well as a private Casita Maya. The amenities are luxurious and the rooms are filled with fragrant fresh flowers. There is a central swimming pool for the use of all the guests; but the suites also offer private or semi-private pools adjacent to their terraces. Indulge yourself with a restorative swim under a gentle tropical summer rain.

Strolling the lush, peaceful gardens…visiting the artisan workshops…indulging in a relaxing Mayan massage…learning about local herbs and fruits in the botanical garden…what could possibly make this weekend any better? The delicious food, of course! The main dining area is on the terrace, but there are so many more options! You can have your breakfast served on your private terrace, or you can recreate the aura of the hacienda owners of the past and dine in the formal dining room at a table for 12. Or…best of all…for a special occasion, the hotel just might surprise you with a romantic table for two under the trees or in a secluded corner of the Casa Principal…complete with torches and candles all around you!
