Flamingo Lakes Resort

On the Yucatán peninsula there is a new paradise in the making called Flamingo Lakes Resort, a place where you will discover the tranquility of old Colonial Mexico with the rich history of the Mayas, together with the convenience of modern amenities and the finest golf and tennis available.

Flamingo Lakes covers 2,200 acres, of which 840 have been set aside for a private nature reserve.  It is a self-contained community which is the size of, and has the heart of, a village.  The living accommodation will be spaced around 27 holes of golf, a tennis ranch, equestrian center, shops, restaurants, sports center, medical facilities and a host of other recreational facilities. The resort has its own exclusive Beach Club where a shuttle will ferry you to the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and our very own 90 berth marina.

Accommodation will be available with a range of villas and apartments.
The villas are available on 3 different plot sizes: 600, 1000, & 2000 square meters with 6 different design styles from 2 – 5 bedrooms. They are designed to ensure they all retain a style appropriate to their location, while still catering to individual needs and preferences of would-be owners. Dotted around the resort are condominiums offering 2 & 3 bedroom accommodation from 80 – 120 square meters on 2 levels, plus penthouse options with roof gardens.

Your exclusive Country Club membership encompasses the beach club, marina, all sports, leisure and recreational facilities on the resort including the equestrian centre and the private nature reserve. Members will also have exclusive use of the resort’s sports leisure boats and 85’ luxury cruiser which can be booked 24 hours in advance. Upon their return to the marina, members can also enjoy a variety of local and international cuisine and drinks in the exclusive seafood restaurant and barefoot bar & grill.

The nearest town to the resort is Dzemul, a typical small Mexican enclave with a close, friendly and welcoming population just 5 minutes away where small bars and cantinas abound. Flamingo Lakes is situated 6 kms from the undeveloped Yucatán coast where mile upon mile of white sandy beaches stretch along the beautiful warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. For lovers of water sports, every kind of activity is available including deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, and much more.

The Yucatán is steeped in history from the early Mayan civilizations with their famous temples and pyramids to the more recent Spanish Conquistadores. Today’s residents enjoy a wonderful lifestyle with excellent facilities and infrastructure and this, together with the low cost of living, low crime, excellent weather and an exceptionally friendly population make this a highly desirable destination.

Mérida, the capital, with a population of 800,000 and an eclectic mix of Spanish colonial and French architecture is only a 40 minute drive from the resort and serviced by its own modern international airport with direct flights from Houston, Miami, and Mexico City.
