Arte a Mano Dec. 3-4, 2011
The 7th ARTE A MANO craft show will once again bring a select group of craft artists to Mérida on Sat. - Sun. Dec. 3-4 at CANACO, Ave. Itzáes at Calle 31, 3 blocks south of Clínica de Mérida (entrance and parking on Calle 31). The show will be open 10 am – 9 pm. Bigger than ever, there will be 60 exhibitors from Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo. The popular restaurant La Terracita Azul will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, including cochinita, tacos and platos fuertes, as well as beer and wine.
ARTE A MANO is organized by the committee of AANY (Amigos de Artistas/Artesanos Nuevos de Yucatan), a legal Mexican non-profit. The volunteer committee is dedicated to the promotion and marketing of fine craftwork in the Yucatan Peninsula. Artists are invited to participate by the four members of the Selection Committee. The AANY volunteers work to assist artists with display, product development and marketing, and the results have far exceeded expectations. And this year many of the artists will be able to accept credit cards.
The first ARTE A MANO show four years ago was a one-day event, with 25 participating artists and a public of under 500 people. Now the 2-day event attracts 2000 to 3000 people. As Director, Joan Farrell, says, "AANY has created a movement, not an event."
In an effort to help raise funds to cover expenses, participating artists are donating small artworks, all for sale at $150 pesos. This presentation, called ARTE A MEDIA CARTA (half page art) will be located in the entrance to the show.
We hope you will want to become a sponsor of ARTE A MANO. We suggest the following:

Your contribution will be acknowledged at the entrance to the show. Kindly contact Anny Schrader at animex@prodigy.net.mx or 9991 250466 if you wish to become a sponsor.
