Cruise Ship visit

I have planned a cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines in April 2009. 
There are limited shore excursions through the cruise line. Where
can we go for snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing, etc. on a nice
local beach? We are scheduled to be in Progreso on Apr. 27. Any
information is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tammy R. Roach
