There are two fundamental beliefs about what will happen on December 21, 2012. One situation is extremely good, the other is extremely bad. This is literally a life and death event. To further complicate matters, there is evidence that indicates that the real Mayan end-date is not in December 2012, but instead on October 28, 2011.
