Theft in Labnah, manager refuse to call the police
Dear Ms Gutierrez,
I found that your reply to our post was misleading, inaccurate and in every sense a simple character assassination of me and the truth.
It is interesting you want to avoid details of this case and at no point have threats been made here are some details you are trying to avoid.
·Why on the night of the theft the police were not called immediately as we requested??? The staff implied the procedure was to wait for the hotel manager to arrive on the premises (it took you 11 hours to show up missing our original appointment at 9.00 am) and furthermore “missing” us for the remainder our stay, with urgent matters arising after every request for a further meeting.
·Secondly, to the point above, the delay in the alerting the police on the same night of the theft meant that the police hands were tied in investigating the matter properly (The hotel should have alerted them the same night). We spent our day travelling from Police Station to station. The language barrier preventing us from quickly advising the police as to our situation. I believe after the manager refused to contact the police or to come with us to report the theft this was a serious lack of good management and care for the guests (even “misleading” the investigation.) The police told us YOU WERE supposed to come with us!
·We went to the Touristic Police first and the Public Ministry, we have the reports if you care to read them.
·Why, as you say, were 1200 euros lying around on the floor of our room? Simple as the safe was not large enough to fit it inside, aside from the fact that you should me more worried about the security of your hotel in the first place. (A room is not a place for items to be stolen from)
·The point of the credit card is as such: the night of the theft we were asked to provide a swipe of the card to guarantee funds for the stay. This, I accept is normal I have no issue with this, the problem is this was not the case here, instead of as you say guaranteeing the room the funds were actually charged! As my credit card statement will prove. Then the camera, iPod, phone as you so eloquently tried to blame us for going missing was stolen from our room in as little as 2 hours later. Maybe we should forward this case to Agatha Christie or Poirot! What a mystery!
We do not need blessings from you just a simple apology would have been sufficient instead you have tried to question my integrity. You were the one who washed her hands on the matter and didn’t show up to meet with us for the rest of our stay even if we did request it on a number of occasions. However I am pleased to see you take so much interest in the matter now.
